Wonderful evening out in Oakville: We had dinner at Trattoria Timone on Saturday night and were really impressed, the restaurant was packed, the staff was running around in a controlled organized manner, there was live music, his name was Tim and he played piano and sang as well as taking requests from other diners, he was very good. The service was excellent, we received freshly baked dinner rolls that were made fresh in house. Our waiter was Steve, and he was very professional, and helpful when it came time to order our wine and meals. The wine list was very impressive, an extensive selection of Italian and Napa wines that are very reasonably priced compared to other restaurants. The meals were all beautifully presented, and perfectly done, the meals came out very hot, that was nice to see. The desserts are all home made and delicious, they even make there own gelato on site. My group and I really enjoyed our experience at this Oakville Italian restaurant and highly recommend it. - mark loves food 9/12/2011
Wow!: So I have been to restaurants all over the world, and this one surprised me! I found it by accident on a search, and I decided to give it a try. My wife and I were received with a very warm welcome at the door, and although the table wasn't the greatest, that was quickly an after thought when we saw how busy the place was. Our server "Andrea" was very kind and very knowledgeable about wine. He suggested the Burratta salad to start, and it was better than any that we had in Italy. I had the Osso Bucco as my main course and my wife had the Chicken Fettuccine. We both licked our plates clean. We could no believe how tasty everything was. Then for dessert, we split on a chocolate mousse cake. As with everything else it was spectacular. We enjoyed everything about this restaurant and I have to say that the quality well surpasses the price point. I have paid alot more at other high end restaurants and truly felt that we had not gotten our dollars worth. My wife and I will definitely be back, and I highly recommend this restaurant for an authentic Italian dining experience! - Jvega 8/26/2011
Authentic Italian Thin Crust Pizzas: Went for lunch with a couple buisiness associates, one ordered linguini pescatore,another ordered wild ocean trout filet, while I ordered a Mediterranean pizza on a thin crust. I looked at it it was presented on almost a floral formation with the eggplant , Zuccinni, and Tomato with some goat cheese sprinkled on top. All three of us were just blown away with everything from the decor to the service and I challenge any reputed Pizza place to top this Mediterranean pizza I had. Should also mention we shared a half dozen fresh oysters from the east and west coast and they were beautiful. - Frank_miller 8/25/2011
Lovely authentic Italian cuisine! Great Service. Love that you can...: I have dined at Trattoria many times with my family. We normally drive 40 minutes each way to eat at Trattoria. Trattoria IL Timone is one of our favorite eatery. It does not stop to amuse me, how clean, awesome service and tasty food is. I recommend this place to every one; I have never been disappointed in my decision to eat at Trattoria. I tried other dishes but Smoked Salmon with Salad is my favourite. - Jodh 8/25/2011
Great restaurant for a buisiness lunch: My colleagues and i went with a group of about 20 for lunch at this oakville italian restaurant and were amazed how fast and professional the service was, our drinks and meals came out quickly and everyone raved about the quality and presentation our server was onofrio and he was great with the wine and food recommendations. we really enjoyed ourselves and highly recommend Trattoria for buisiness lunches. - electrify 8/23/2011
Best Italian fine dinning restaurant in Oakville: As soon as i walked in i was very impressed by the reception I received and was directed to my awaiting table. The waiter was at our table within 3 min with water for our glasses, he took our drink order and was back within 10 min with our drinks, by then we were ready to order. My wife ordered the linguini pescatore and I ordered a beef tenderloin with a salad which by the way I was not hassled about . Our meal arrived in about 20 min and it was done exactly the way I ordered it. Bravo! It was one of the best experiences I have received in a fine dinning restaurant in the GTA in a while and we will definitely be back. - mark johns 8/23/2011
Best Italian: My wife and I have been going to Trattoria for 20 years and I have to say it is the most consistent and tasteful restaurant in the metropolitan area. The waiters and management are amazing. Love the open kitchen and the chefs are not just great at what they do but very entertaining. Favorites on the menu: Calamari, just had a great niscois salad, great pate's when available the Penne Rustica is amazing and I love when they do the seafood trio. Recommendation: Trattoria Timone is by far one of the best restaurants i've ever been to. The atmosphere is very elegant, and the establishment is adequate for any type of event. The food at Trattoria is outstanding since they use fresh ingredients, and its great that they always have new features and special items on the menu. Consistently amazing experiences!: Trattoria Timone has quickly become my favourite restaurant in the Oakville/Mississauga area since I first discovered it about a year ago. The entire experience from the authentic Italian menu, the execution of the dishes, the open kitchen concept and the friendly and professional service always keeps me wanting to come back and is surprisingly very hard to find anywhere else in the Oakville/Mississauga area. All of the foods are made from scratch, the flavour combinations are innovative and unique and the menu caters to everyone from seafood and meat lovers to authentic Italian pasta lovers. Best Restaurant in GTA: This restaurant was recommended by a friend. We are from Toronto, and firstly we were so impressed with the website, and the fact that we could book our reservation online. It was worth the drive to Oakville. We were received at the door by very pleasant hostesses, and then our server was spectacular. But the food oh my the food was unbelievable. Just the right portions. I had the Jumbo seafood ravioli and it was amazing. I didn't expect so many big pieces of seafood under a sheet of pasta. My Mother had the Veal Marsala and she said it was the best she had ever tasted and she is not easy to please. We were celebrating my mother's 62nd birthday, and the server surprised us with a birthday dessert. Overall we had a wonderful experience, and I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who is looking for fresh, high quality food with a high standard of service. Loved it! - A.Iturra 8/17/2011
Best Italian Food: This place is a hidden jewel in the AMC complex. With Cuisine from the Mediterranean Island of Sardinia. I tried the Sardinian ravioli and it was amazing. My husband had the Beef Tenderloin and was so amazed that we have reservations to come back in a week. A wonderful fine dining Italian restaurant. Our Server was Italian, and he was so amazing, and courteous. He told us all about the family that works together. A true success story. We received a warm welcome from the minute we entered the restaurant. I definitely recommend this restaurant to everyone. They really have it together, from service to cuisine. I love this Italian restaurant: I have traveled to most of europe, and especially Italy, and this fine dining Italian restaurant on the border of Oakville and Mississauga was very authentic with its pastas, salads, thin crust pizza's, and grilled seafoods. Absolutely Amazing!: Trattoria Timone is by far the best restaurant, for so many reasons. Firstly, the atmosphere is unlike any other, The service is highly professional, the quality of the food is extraordinary, and I personally love the family dynamic within the restaurant. The chef and his wife are very committed to the business and it is shows in the way they interact with each employee and customer; it is very welcoming.
