“Good Greek on the Danny”The place was jumping on a Thursday night. Great casual atmosphere inside and on the patio. Food was good - not spectacular, but good enough. Great, friendly service, which can be hard to find among Greek restaurants along the Danforth. I'll definitely go back.

“The best Greek food in Toronto!”Besides the wonderful service, Astoria offers a wide variety of authentic Greek food, all at a great price! I could have spent all day simply eating their hummus and tzaziki! Large portions, fresh, and delicious! Would highly recommend their souvlaki dinners, spanakopita, their dips, and their daquiris! Will definitely become a regular!

“Greek is great”This is a great Greek restaurant. I had the pork souvlaki and was not disappointed! The meat was tender, the yogurt dip was incredible and the salad first rate. The Mythos beer was decent as well. Service was good and prices were reasonable.

“always delightful”I have been eating at the Astoria for over 25 years and it is always excellent. the chicken breast and greek salad are well priced and delicious, the portions are large so come hungry. there r so many greek places along the Danforth but the Astoria is still the best.

“It's been 25yrs.”25yrs ago when I moved to Toronto I kept hearing about this place.When I finally went I was disappointed. My shish kebob was bland and over cooked.This past weekend I went to the Taste of the Danforth (If you haven't done this don't miss it next year). I decided to try their pork kebob.It was very tasty and well cooked but a little fatty.I might consider giving them another shot for a sit down meal.

“Better greek food that in Greece”I used to live in Toronto and this was my favorite Greek restaurant. It was really a treat to go back and find out that it has not changed and the food is as good as it was 20 years ago. My favorite is the lamb shish kabob dinner and my wife prefers the lamb chops. Both come with a good size Greek salad, rice and roasted potatoes. Order extra Tzatziki Sauce for an added treat. Open til midnight.

“My go to place when I'm in Toronto and want Greek food.”I've been here about 8 times over the years.Large restaurant with lots of patio space in addition to indoor dining. Prices are fair. Lots of options on the menu. Great service. Public pay and display parking lot located just north of the restaurant and close to Chester TTC station.

“one of my top 10's in toronto love the souvlaki”love this place the shish kabob / souvlaki is the best I've had comes with rice and roasted potatoes seasoned wonderfuly. make sure you are parked legally..the officers are along danforth tagging like flies on poop ;!..The food is fantastic here giveit a try in greektown on the danfoth!

“Where I go for great Greek food when in Toronto”I've tried a few places and IMO this is the best Greek food around. Been coming for over 10 years. I get the usual, chicken souvlaki plate which is very generous with the chicken (its tender & moist), lots of rice and good serving of potatoes as well. The calamari is excellent as well.

“Big portions, tasty food”This was my second visit to Astoria - an old extended family haunt from days gone by. Them menu offers a decent variety of dishes although it's not the largest and even though my previous visit was a couple of years ago I don't remember it being any different from then to now (perhaps a refresh wouldn't go amiss).Some nice humus and pita to share was followed by all three of us ordering Souvlaki (two lamb, one chicken). I'd ordered the large portion (there's two sizes) and it certainly was that. Accompanied with a salad, rice and potatoes this is not for the faint hearted. While my lamb was delightful my wife's was fatty and grisly which was a major disappointment. The chicken Souvlaki was perfect.Staff were reasonably attentive although another round of drinks wouldn't have gone a miss.With such large portions (an top-ups of pita) there was no room for desert but a very satisfactory meal was enjoyed.

“Greek locals eat here.”To be honest, I don't find Greek food to be particularly special but the calamari is delightfully tender and yes, the meal portions are big, the salad fresh. When we arrived on a Sunday noon, the place filled up quickly, many of them Greek locals if that is any indication about the quality of the food. There is a nice family atmosphere and my kids were happy with the children's menus (rice, fries, chicken fingers, etc.). Yes, the service slows down when it's busy but what do you expect? Nice interiors, friendly service--we'll come back.

“Year later food GREAT but service could be improved”Went to Astoria last night with family, and had not been in a year. Food still very good (I recommend the Calamari fried dinner, best Calmari I have still ever had).Now the minor service issues.When we arrived the restaurant was busy but maybe half full as we arrived before 6pm.We asked when we arrived if we could please have a booth if possible, was told it was not after she checks this and takes us to the WORST TABLE in the restaurant by the kitchen door where it is VERY NOISY with all the dishes beside your table, we said we would not sit there, and asked for another table. We are not picky about tables, by the way, it wasn't like their weren't LOTS of tables!Our server did not bring us the complimentary bread,unless that has changed and no longer free? It seemed to be on some others tables, not a big deal though. Also I had asked that my dinner come with fries, instead giving me vegetables and switched it for fries quickly, which I appreciated. The food is great but it is kind of expensive, at $18.99 for Calamari dinner and they don't list their prices on their website, this may be why, but don't get me wrong I WOULD RECOMMEND!FYI: They only will reserve a table if if it is for 5 or more people, at least that's what they said on the phone? Because the food is good, it is great for parties but is always noisy.

“Still sets the standard on the Danforth”There are nights that, looking for Greek on the Danforth, that we see the lineups at Astoria and go somewhere else. But recently it was one of those evenings when the lineup was modest, and we went back to the Astoria. You know, they have earned their reputation. The prices aren't the lowest on the Danforth, but they do everything well. The souvlaki plates are available in large and smaller sizes, decent salads, good appetizers; i had the salmon and it was better than in many places. I think i would say that the Astoria rarely disappoints. It still sets the standard on the Danforth -- some will challenge it, but the Astoria continues to deliver.

“Good Greek choice, though bit more expensive then used to be”Went with family for dinner and everyone loved their food, have been going for over 20 years but had not been in many years.Food was very good, though I wish they added a bit more salad and cost a bit less.Have also picked up food since visiting and wasn't as good as in the restaurant but I guess that is to be expected. Can be very busy and noisy sometimes but food is usually worth it.RECOMMEND THE CALAMARI, YUM!!!
