If you're looking for a budget option for a small event or wedding, this is a decent venue.I attended a regional roundtable event at Payal, and the first thing that struck me was how out-of-the-way this place is. It's on a small street in the Erindale Station / Burnhamthorpe area, flanked by a bunch of corporate offices on one side and a transit maintenance hub down the street. Frankly, I never would have noticed the place had I not run into it accidentally several months back after getting lost on the back streets.The space is two floors, but the rooms aren't the biggest compared to other halls in the city, and the space feels a bit dated. That said, the main hall is nice and there are some interesting decorations to keep you briefly amused as you try to figure out where you're going.Stray off the beaten path and the flaws quickly become apparent. You can tell when a banquet hall isn't up to snuff when they don't have a coat check and instead make you hang your stuff up with hangers that look like they were purchased in 1983.As this was an all-day event (albeit one I couldn't stay all the way through due to other commitments), I was able to try their breakfast and lunch menus. The former was nothing to write home about - a scattered selection of croissants, small blueberry muffins and glazed donuts(?), along with a coffee machine that couldn't even heat up properly after �more than an hour, forcing the staff to make up a hot cup specifically for a guest who was complaining.Lunch was a better story, with plenty of pasta, chicken Parmesan, salad and soft drinks. Unlike some of the other reviews I read here on the page, the staff was decently quick and hovered around to make sure the food was served hot when the group went for lunch.The experience was decent, but it's not really a place I'd go out of my way to visit again unless there was something very important there.

Overall, they provide you with an inclusive package that is well equipped with caterers and great lighting and references for an in-house stage decorator, cake decorator, DJ etc.However, they are not  client- oriented. The management feels like they should run your show rather than you running your own wedding. They don't listen to all of the directives you give beforehand on the phone. They didn't listen to the layout of how I wanted my wedding setup in the ballroom. This could have been my decorator's fault, but I am not sure. Moreover, we had done my brother's wedding in 2010 (mine was only two years later in 2012), and they promised me because we were returning clients, they would throw in the hor d' oeuvres as an incentive, but they never did that. Also, their servers are quite slow in setting up decor and all. :( For my mehndi event in the Princess room, they didn't even have lighters to light up their floating candles in the vase centerpieces that they provide themselves with the hall. Not only that, but they were setting the floating candles and table linens up when it was almost time for the guests to arrive. Seeing that there was no event going on beforehand, it was unfair and saddening to me that their service was slow and off. I have to admit that although their service setup and serving staff is friendly, they should be professional and do their work on time or at least at a quick pace if that is their job. Also, when it came time to the dinner buffet, during my brother's time, everything was set up in really nice chafers and dishes, but for my wedding, the quality had gone down. Considering, we had booked the hall for Friday- my mehndi (pre-wedding event), and Sunday for my wedding, they should have listened to us in the few requests we had like layout of room, adding the hor d' oeuvres, and simply should have had quicker and more detail-oriented staff service. Cons: *Management doesn't listen carefully and right everything down*Lighting could be managed better with a staff member asking us what we would like dimmed and what not*Staff is slow and it felt like I didn't even had centerpieces for one of my events because the tea lights floating inside of the clear vases were not even lit up. I had to suffer through my mehndi event with dull centerpieces because no one had a lighter with them. I didn't make this mistake with the wedding as I had my decorator do half of the tables in fresh flowers. But the other half of tables with floating candles still were not lit up!!!* Manager was friendly but really really hard to reach and once we made an appointment with him, and he was not even there in the morning. Pros: *Tall ballrooms with beautiful chandeliers*Princess room has floor to ceiling windows * Catering is inclusive and really good food*  Table/ Linen Color coordination with your event's color theme *Ample lighting- but you have to have someone control this at different times during the event- especially a wedding.
