Came here with a group after looking for something unique, reasonably priced and close to Islington station (this place is a $7 cab ride or 5-10 minute walk). Happy to say the experience was a good one and everyone in the group had good things to say.Mains with pasta, risotto, and items deemed as entrees are all in the $13-$20 range for the most part with a few items closer to $25. You get your choice of pasta or seasonal vegetables and roasted potatoes with the entrees. Service was friendly, food was good and the place was pretty quiet so our group felt right at home and not fighting for attention. Worth visiting, but advanced notice for beer drinkers: bottle only, no draught taps.

Tasty and hot Italian DishesThis local restaurant is great place for a delicious veal sandwich to a veal parmegiana. It appears to always open for lunch, unlike the other restaurants in the area and always has customers. It is small but cozy.

“Outstanding dinner”Friends brought me here for a birthday dinner. It is a small Italian restaurant on Dundas in the Islington Village with a warm, casual atmosphere. I ordered the warm spinach salad with egg and bacon and a mixed grill of lamb, veal scaloppini and chicken with a Marsala sauce and mixed vegetables. All the food was delicious, the meats tender and sauce flavourful. I also tried some grilled calamari from another plate and it was excellent, tender and well seasoned with garlic, onion, tomatoes and capers. Service was prompt yet not rushed and they brought two slices of cheesecake with a candle while everyone in the place sang "Happy Birthday." Everyone enjoyed their meals and agreed that the restaurant was an excellent choice.

“Hosting a party in Toronto? Let me recommend Village Trattoria!”It is a great pleasure to recommend a fabulous, underrated little restaurant in the great city of (west) Toronto. Interestingly, I have worked very close to the Village Trattoria (VT) for almost 7-years without once crossing the threshold. Due to renovations at our home, my husband and myself decided to host a Christmas party for friends at a local restaurant. My decision to consider VT was based almost exclusively on location and close free parking. By complete accident, I have discovered a treasure right in my neighbourhood.I called Raj, the chef and owner of VT and arranged to meet with him to discuss a menu, date of event and other important issues. I met with Raj and Carmela and together we modified a fixed luncheon menu they suggest to a group of guests. They couldn't have been more pleasant and accommodating. For example, the restaurant does not use tablecloths as a rule but agreed to provide white linen tablecloths for my party. As well, the restaurant is closed on a Sunday but agree to open for my party. Fantastic!On the day of the party, my husband and I arrived to dress up the table for 14-people with a few Christmas decorations. While there was a temporary glitch (tables were set but in the wrong location of the restaurant), this was quickly adjusted and the plan moved ahead quickly. Ricardo was our designated server and was extremely helpful in helping us choose wines from their modest wine list. We also met our chef for the day, Chris; a warm, pleasant individual.Let's talk food! Chris ~ you did us proud. The food was absolutely delicious in every way. Every person at our party called or emailed to say how impressed they were by the great food. Guests had a choice of salad or cannelloni (my fav), a choice of grilled salmon, chicken marsala or veal piccata. This was followed by Italian ice-cream and tea/coffee.Let's talk service~ Ricardo was a fantastic server........period. There was no lag in service at any time. He never rushed us. We were allowed to stand around with wine or cocktails until we were ready to take a seat. He took orders quickly, politely and unobtrusively. The only time that our enthusiastic group were truly quiet was when we were tucking into the dishes we had chosen.Cost ~ The fees charged at this restaurant are fair and reasonable. For our party of 14-people, we paid $616. This included a few cocktails prior to the lunch, 4-bottles of wine, 3 large bottles of water, the skillfully prepared food and the taxes. Granted, we were not a heavy drinking bunch; however, I still consider this a super price since I was able to spend time with guests, not running in/out of a kitchen.It may have taken me 7-years to come to my senses and try the Village Trattoria but believe me when I say that I am now a regular patron of this relatively undiscovered treasure in west Toronto. I discovered this little Italian restaurant unexpectedly as my usual place was busy last night. There was a couple of large sized groups when we arrived but...

“Love this place”I ordered the veal piccata, with roasted vegetables - which was wonderful. A great tasting Pinot Grigio. Dessert was tiramisu, which I still daydream about. Can't say enough about it!! Ample free parking at the back. A great experience. Love this place!

“Best Italian restaurant in Etobicoke”I have been going to this restaurant for a few years now and I must say that this is my favorite restaurant for the following reasons:- Excellent service -- their staff is always accommodating (sometimes funny too).- Great food - I love their Crispy Free Range Chicken; their Salads, Seafood Pasta- Excellent value - their price is so reasonable for the quality of the food you get- Great atmosphere - I enjoy the fact that it is very relaxed here and the restaurant has this home-y feel to it.Try this restaurant, you will surely enjoy it and will keep coming back!

“Good Experience”One of the few Italian restaurants along Dundas open the evening Jan. 2, we were quickly greeted and seated. Our server was attentive and helpful. Bread took a few minutes to arrive, but it was obviously fresh from the oven and delicious. The entrees (chicken) were excellent and reasonably priced. A pasta entree with mushrooms and chicken was cooked perfectly. Presentation was nice and servings were plentiful. This isn't a large restaurant, so reservations are probably appropriate on weekends. We will go back.

“My favourite restaurant in Etobicoke!”Village Trattoria4903 Dundas St WestEtobicoke416 236 2609I have dined at this wonderful restaurant many times and thoroughly enjoyed the food. Not only is it beautifully prepared and presented, but the prices are very reasonable.My favourites are the Warm Goat Cheese Salad, Grilled Calamari and Veal Picata. Since I love this restaurant so much, I decided to hold my father's 85th birthday party there. The wait staff helped me select a menu and were extremely accommodating with respect to dietary needs and table configuration. The party was a huge success! Everyone raved about the delicious food and the outstanding personal service. A special thanks to Carmella. A friendlier, more considerate server would be hard to find.
